Linen or linen blend fabric: choose the structure of your creation

A fabric containing linen can suit very different silhouettes depending on its construction and the other fibers in the blend. For a loose shirt, skirt, or jacket, compare the desired drape with the fabric's ability to hold its shape. The fiber name alone is not enough to differentiate two references.

Match the material to the cut

A model with sharp lines requires a different structure than a heavily gathered dress. Also examine the opacity, especially for pants or light colors. A linen blend may have a different drape than a fabric made entirely of linen: consult the percentages and characteristics rather than assuming an identical result for the entire selection.

Prepare the seams and finishes

Prepare the fabric according to the care instructions, then place the pieces in the grain. On a scrap, observe fraying and choose a serging or closed seam compatible with the thickness. Also test the pressing of the seams and pleats. For a fitted piece, maintain the recommended ease: a soft fabric is not necessarily stretchy.

Are all the linen fabrics in this collection washed linens?

No. A washed finish must be indicated on the reference sheet. The presence of linen in the composition does not allow you to deduce this finish, nor the care instructions.
