Brown fabrics: play with tones and textures

Brown can accompany an animal print, a floral pattern, or a more subdued composition. In this selection, it can appear as a background or as a secondary color. Compare its shade and surface reflections before choosing the materials to pair with it.

Build a color harmony

For a contrasting detail, observe the light and dark shades already present in the pattern. A beige border and a dark border do not highlight the same lines. If you combine several browns, compare their shades in similar lighting to choose a deliberate match.

Adapt the texture to the garment

A fluid fabric and a textured fabric can create very different silhouettes. Check the drape, opacity, and recommended uses. On a material whose reflections change with direction, keep the same orientation for the pieces and integrate this constraint into the yardage.

Does a brown color indicate the composition?

No. The palette and the material are two distinct criteria. Read the composition on the sheet to know the fibers of the swatch and its care instructions.
