Animal print fabric: balance the print and the cut
Animal prints can be subtle or very prominent depending on the scale of the design and contrasts. To choose a fabric, look at the repetition of the pattern on a sufficiently large surface and imagine it on your model. The category describes a print, without determining the material.
Choose a whole piece or a detail
A dense print can dress a dress or serve as a contrast on a collar, a visible lining, or a pocket. For an association with a solid color, take a color that is actually present in the design. Also check the dimensions of the shapes: a small accessory will only show part of a very large pattern.
Check the direction of the design
Some patterns seem free but have an orientation. Lay out the fabric before placing the pieces and maintain a coherent reading between the front and back. Then choose the fluidity and opacity according to the garment. A marked print does not compensate for a transparency incompatible with the project.
Does this category correspond to a material of animal origin?
No. It classifies animal designs. The fiber composition is indicated separately on each product sheet and should be consulted to choose the fabric.
